sunday sillies

i will never get over daylight savings time! i have been living in Missouri for almost 3 years and still have a hard time! when i lived in Arizona, i always thought how crazy people everywhere else in the us was, and that i was so lucky never to worry about changing my clock. i still don't worry about changing the time, thankfully Logan keeps up with that for me. but i do have to deal with the change and since kids don't understand time, i get to help them adjust to!
this year we have church at 9 am, and getting ready for church at 9 is already hard, we are not morning people, we like to sleep and all really enjoy it! on Saturday night i set my alarm for the normal wake up at 7:30, 7:30 came and i turned off the alarm and fell asleep, 8:20 came and i hopped out of bed, got dressed, got the boys both dressed, and logan got himself ready. we ran out the door at 9 am. and walked in the chapel at 9:04am! talk about miracle, we were so surprised we made it.
Boston had a hard day, he wanted to take a nap halfway through church, but thankfully he waited until we got home. James would rather go to nursery then sunbeams, but a little bribery does the trick and he will walk into class no argument. Thankfully Boston turns 18 months in a couple days so next week he can start nursery.  I will be able to enjoy class once again, instead of walking the halls the last two hours. I am so grateful for the time I have been able to spend just B and I, but am ready for some class time!
Boston's favorite door, mostly because its the only door he can open. Look at those eyes! He is adorable!

James came running to me after church saying "mom, i like sunbeams, i got a sucker!" He is such a sweet boy, when we got to the car Boston saw said sucker and wanted one too, James took a bite and said "here Boston you can have it". He is so giving, and loves to share with his brother!

snuggles.

boston had been co-sleeping with mom and dad until a couple of months ago, logan and i finally realized it was time that he started sleeping in james' room. he needed to learn how to comfort himself more and not rely on me to put him to sleep. since the big change he has been sleeping really well and throughout the night. we used the sleep lady shuffle with him and it finally stuck. he has a pretty simple routine. after we leave the room he normally climbs out of his crib and snuggles with his big brother. james loves it most days, other days he comes to me saying, mom boston slept in my bed again. we have explained to james that sometimes boston just wants to be near him and feels safe when he is next to you, since then there have been very few complaints. i love that my boys find comfort in each other. i always find them playing or sitting next to one another or sharing a pillow sleeping. they really do have a strong bond and love to show they care. they are so sweet, i am so lucky to have such wonderful boys.

notice all the toys, they normally play and play until they are ready for bed.

snowday!

It snowed this month, real snow, fluffy white snow! I was extremely excited, snow in Missouri is not like the snow in Arizona. The snow here turns to ice almost instantly or it lasts for few days then become ice. So when it finally snowed real fluffy snow, I knew I had to take the boys out in it. I bundled them al up, we have very little snow gear since we don't get snow and because its rare that I let them go out and play in it.
James and Boston loved it! They were so excited to see it! Boston was not so happy when he fell over face first into it, thanks to mom he was having a hard time walking and playing. Once he was over that he played and played until he has too cold to move. Then it was time to go in and warm up and watch a movie!

learning to fly

My Lately I have been watching my little guys, they are adorable and I am so glad that they don't mind mom staring at them. James wasn't being very nice to Boston and had pushed him. I asked James why he would do that and reminded him how pushing is not very nice. He replied with "but mom, Boston was trying to fly so I pushed him." Where does this come from? I had to hold in the laughter I just reminded him that pushing is not nice, and he shouldn't try to help people fly, especially since Boston probably didn't ask to fly. Later they were both picking on each other and I told James that if he were going to choose to be mean to Boston than he would need to take a break in his room. He wasn't to thrilled, (in our house taking a break is a hidden word for time out since he doesn't like time out we use take a break. It works and he asks to take a break when he is to overwhelmed.) Anyways he sat and thought and then stood up walked to Boston and said "Boston I am sorry for being mean will you forgive me?" YES!!! He finally got it! I have been working on forgiveness with James for a couple of months and normally he can apologize on his own, but asking for forgiveness needs a little reminder. And he did it all on his own. He followed Boston around for a bit asking over and over for his forgiveness and Boston smiled and gave him a hug. These two love each other! They may fight and not agree but they love each other more than anything! I love watching their love for one another grow.

Christmas

This year we spent Christmas together as a family, but Christmas Eve was spent with Logan's parents. We had so much fun with them, catching up and talking. We headed home late that night we all opened Christmas jammies, and then sent boys off to bed. I had to get started on assembling James and Boston's Christmas present, I read online that it took many people 2 hours, so as 11pm after wrapping the rest of the christmas gifts, I opened the box and it took 1 hour and 53 minutes to assemble! Christmas morning came and as usual Logan and I were so excited we woke the boys up so they could open presents! They managed to sneak into our room, James on the floor, and Boston in our bed. I love watching them open presents, Boston is reaching the age where he knows how to open presents but once open he wants to play with that toy. So James helped open a lot of his presents. James loves Christmas, he loves trees, the presents, santa, red and cookies. I love spending Christmas with my little family, I am so grateful for them and for Christ's Birth for without him, I wouldn't have them for eternity!
James insisted that he put the star on the tree.

I make a new homemade ornament each year for our tree, this year we all had our names added.

Both boys received one gift from Santa, and the rest from mom and dad or other family.

its not the clearest shot, but i love his expression.
